Ministry of Information Technology has started Doordarshan’s Phone App after AIR. After All India Radio, this phone App of DD was started with big bang Dhan.
The DoD’s App is currently for Android users only. It will also be made available for Windows, IOS and other platforms too soon. Information Minister Arun Jaitley said on the sidelines that the news of all the formats of information should not be allowed to end the news. The news is currently based on event based, participants and anchors.
Such is the place for news based on facts and correct information. People want news and information with a wide spectrum of issues and events. Along with this, presenting news with discretion is dependent upon continuous notification. It is a big step to launch DD’s Phone App in the direction of providing news to the whole country. If you have grown up in late 80s & early 90s, Doordarshan was your only source of entertainment as far as TV viewing is considered. Watching a movie once a week, waiting for Chitrahaar so that you can watch few songs, watching Krishi Darshan even if you didn’t understand a bit of it.
